Actors bring the flesh, blood, and sinew to their characters. The director understands that the actor’s training is unlike the training of any other artist. The actor and the director should form a partnership and be collaborators in the creative process. The prime directive of the method is to train the actor to access his emotions. Method acting schools have common concepts, though each splinter group has its own terminology. The professional film actor has learned some rules that make his experience on the set easier and gain the respect of the crew and cast members. The actor needs to be sensitive to the limitations of the microphone. The film actor needs to have a powerful inner life for her character.
