ABSTRACT

After learning about the art of directing, it is time to look at the real world of production. The question asked of the director by the producer or the production manager is whether the picture can be shot at their published budget. This is an important question. The budget determines the basic crew, the number of shooting days, the setups that have to be shot during a given day, the number of pages that must be shot to stay on schedule, and finally whether the picture can be shot on location or at a distant location or in the studio.
