ABSTRACT

Bogdan took on the role of Secretary of State for Cultural Heritage in the Romanian government, which assumed leadership of the country in 2016, following a scandal surrounding a nightclub fire. As an architect she aims to bring systems thinking and intense organisation skills to find workable solutions to complex briefs involving multiple stakeholders. The two architects studied, and now teach, at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, Romania. Collaboration has become an important way of working for Cioarec and Tudor, and Atelier Vast have been their most important collaborator since 2017. In the early years, the studio specialised in interior design and clients were mostly private. As an architecture student, Gamolina found the performative demands of design reviews just as enjoyable as the production of drawings. The structure creates a frame for many kinds of cultural and architectural events, exhibitions and meetings.
