ABSTRACT

Compulsive sex took you hostage as you searched for the highest high. Even when you wanted to stop, you couldn’t, and the consequences became progressively worse. Problematic sexual behaviors are self-protective strategies getting in the way of your deepest wants and desires. In early recovery it’s necessary to pull in the reins to contain compulsive behavior, but now it’s time to safely explore your sexual self by identifying your true erotic template and concealed desires. Rather than pleasure being taboo, you’ll be given the opportunity to examine what it means to you without censorship.

In addition to investigating critical aspects of your sexual self, you’ll be encouraged to safely share your erotic vision with a trusted confidant—your blueprint of turn-ons and safer fantasies. After reviewing your sexual history, you’ll design a roadmap exploring fun, liberating and playful forms of sexual expression for this next phase of your recovery. By exploring and identifying your passions, fantasies, and desires, you’ll consider ways to infuse safer, more pleasurable pursuits into your sexual repertoire.
