ABSTRACT
Chapter Eight revisits some of the ways in which the volume has utilized the concept of the symbolic order and highlights ways the current culture war is very much about the symbolic order. The Epilogue also calls attention to a seeming paradox that current culture war’s intensity exaggerates the divisions among most Americans, yet is likely to persist well into the future.
