ABSTRACT
Portraits of seven “vaccine-hesitant” individuals are provided to illustrate the diversity of profiles and motivations underlying vaccine hesitancy. The authors then define the concept of vaccine hesitancy and highlight its importance as a public health threat. They emphasise the multilayered nature of this concept to present the outline of this volume.
