ABSTRACT
Many teachers feel some “digital anxiety” about teaching with 1:1. There are many ways to start learning more about what is happening in the world of 1:1 teaching. Beyond the learning curve, many teachers worry that “all this technology” means that they are always on—that they no longer get a break from school like they once did. World language teachers are coping with the vagaries of online translation, especially when they ask students to write papers at home. A science teacher with tablets now has her students take lab notes in an app that lets them include pictures of their experiment as they go Many new-to-tech teachers find temporary solace in assigning one job to the device in students’ hands, such as “they will use it to type when they finish their handwritten drafts” or “they just use it for Internet searches”.
