ABSTRACT
The existence today of weapons of total destruction has brought about an upheaval of ideas on war and of the notions of ‘aggression’ and the right to ‘self-defence’. The League of Nations and the United Nations have both dedicated endless efforts to reaching a definition of aggression, and the Soviet Union has played a leading role in these attempts.
