ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the liturgical development of Confirmation within the Anglican Communion. The order of Provinces and dioceses follows that of the 1930 Lambeth Conference. There are many minor developments not all based on the English agenda. The social assumptions of the 1662 Prayer Book are shown to be inadequate in various mission fields. All of this can be seen as a part of a wave of liturgical revision around the Communion as was beginning to happen in other churches.
