ABSTRACT
The immediate object of my journey and subsequent study was to estimate the damage caused by war and examine the Soviet steps at reconstruction. My ultimate object to gain an impression of the kind of human beings that the past two and half decades have produced in the Soviet Union. After that a re-examination of the nature of the various influences, physical, educational and cultural, which mould human life in the Socialist sixth of the world. Then finally a re-examination of the economic bases on which it all rests.
