ABSTRACT

This chapter concludes that as China's anthropology moves from studying microscopic Chinese villages to macroscopic Chinese civilization, it needs to address how different civilizations interact and the possible ideal states that exist. The study of civilizational interaction has identified three modes of interaction: oppositional exclusion, complementary communication, and harmonious fusion. The differences of these are shown respectively in psychological representation, social exchange, expression, cultural expression, and ethnographic type. The core of anthropology is to pay attention to the interaction of civilizations and promote the development of civilization interaction anthropology, which can be described as a new mission.
