ABSTRACT
Although they’re only six and seven years old, first graders know about lots of things! They can bring their life experiences to an “all-about” book unit of study and share their knowledge with readers. However, I noticed that some of the first graders I worked with while writing this book had a tough time switching gears from their storytelling voices to the more authoritative voice that informational writing requires.
