ABSTRACT

One common roadblock is being told that there is no space for a reading lounge because there aren’t empty classrooms in the building that are unused. The decor of the reading lounge is also worth considering. There was a large bulletin-board space right outside the lounge door, and the people suggested having a mural done that would designate the space as the school reading. Students submitted their designs for the mural with the understanding that a professional artist would be hired to translate the winning design to a mural. The PTA even took responsibility for having the blankets cleaned each quarter of the year and returning them to the lounge. What a blessing to witness and be part of a partnership that benefits every child in the school.
