ABSTRACT

Inferring is a difficult strategy to teach students. It requires students to use their background knowledge and clues from the text in order to create their own meaning. Students then choose a partner and a word to begin their work. The patterns of text, the planning, the “beginner’s mistakes,” and the depth of the authors’ knowledge about literature in general was nothing but inspiring. In general, in order to lift a prompt from a conversation, there first needs to be a conversation among the children. The goblins will be able to use their mystical powers that Granny Pinchbottom told William about to hurt William or Igor. The goblins might be mean to William and not want to free Igor. Jessica says there is no benefit to the goblin’s relationship with William in her writing, but in the chart she says that William let the goblins out.
