ABSTRACT

This chapter defines the term habitat and clarifies that every living thing has its own unique habitat. It introduces the term biome and compares the features and creatures of rain forest and desert biomes. The chapter compares the cast of creatures living in two different kinds of wetlands, and compares plants and animals that live in two different kinds of grasslands. Encourage students to listen carefully as we continue reading and to raise a hand when they hear words that remind them of something they’ve already heard. Students learn about two different kinds of wetlands and compare the diversity of plants and animals that live in a bog and a swamp.
