ABSTRACT
Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence. On Earth Day, Amy is wearing a baseball hat embellished with colorful flowers that she carefully glued on the night before. She wears it with pride at the front of her sixth-grade class, and her students come up to her to see it up close and to ask her how she made it. The hat is memorable, and that’s exactly what Amy was going for. Amy puts tremendous time and energy into catching her students’ attention and trying to keep it knowing that she is competing with video games like Fortnite and her students’ Instagram accounts. As reported by NPR, there is a growing concern in the United States that the attention span of children is declining.
