A Year at the Stream—Autumn

In the next three chapters—covering autumn, winter, and spring—I take you to the little stream behind our school and show you what it looks and sounds like to take a class of twenty-one second graders outside to explore the natural world throughout a single year—on warm days in our shirtsleeves, on bitter cold days in full snow gear, on bright sunny days as well as gray rainy ones.
