ABSTRACT
Numbers permeate our lives. And as technology allows us to access real-world numerical data instantly, number sense is essential to making good decisions both in and out of the classroom. Noncomputational ideas related to number sense include making connections among different representations of numbers such as quantities, word names, and symbols. Much instructional attention is given to the ten-to-one and one-to-ten place-value relationships within our base ten number system. The mathematics of the game focuses on comparison of numbers, most associated with a number line model, as well as other number properties, for example, the number of digits, whether it is odd or even, or whether it is a multiple of another number.
