ABSTRACT

What is the role of management and accounting studies to shift from ‘unsustainable’ megaprojects to sustainable infrastructure and infrastructural megaprojects? What are the most recent research advancements to deal with the megaproject complexity, especially in transnational infrastructural projects? What are the best practices to manage transnational megaprojects with an inclusive and open approach? Starting from these research questions, and other sub-questions, this book aims to shed light on novel accounting and managerial practices to deal with the intrinsic complexity of megaprojects, including several aspects from stakeholder management and the impact of social conflicts on megaprojects costs to novel concepts and practices such as Mega-projects Social Responsibility and the need of geospatial socio-economic impact accounting framework.
