ABSTRACT

This chapter includes a session-by-session guide for executing the FELT program. Previous chapters outlined the theoretical and “background” components of FELT. This chapter begins to demonstrate what actually happens in each session. This section of the manual was designed to mimic the structure and layout of other evidence-based treatments for anxiety. It also allows for reliable duplication of the procedures studied in previous FELT clinical trials. The chapter begins by outlining play materials that will be needed in FELT. It then offers general advice pertaining to all sessions of FELT. Next, the chapter describes each of the seven “scripted” sessions in FELT, following a similar structure across each session. Each session first states a “purpose” for the session; it then sets several goals. Lastly, methods and activities for executing goals are suggested.
