ABSTRACT
Most of the reviews of this exhibition were hostile and dismissive, but The Times printed this sympathetic and conciliatory article. The writer suggests the term ‘expressionists’ as a label for the new movement — a name which Fry himself favoured before he adopted the term ‘Post-Impressionists’.
