ABSTRACT
In the first chapter of Art Bell had put forward the idea that all works of art appeal primarily to what he called the ‘aesthetic emotion’ which is dependent upon ‘significant form’ within those works of art. This second chapter develops these ideas specifically in the context of Post-Impressionist painting.
