ABSTRACT

A.J. Finberg (1866–1939) was an art student at Lambeth and Paris. He exhibited at both the Paris Salon and the New English Art Club. He drew illustrations for the Graphic and the Illustrated London News and was art critic for the Morning Leader, the Manchester Guardian, the Saturday Review and the Star. He is best remembered for his work on Turner whose drawings he catalogued and about whom he wrote a number of influential books.
