Although the title page lists the date of performance as 28 Februarya full week into Lent--the Revels Office refers to the production as occurring between Christmas and Shrove Tuesday. The title page date is, however, generally accepted beyond a quibble. 25 The Revels Office noted the performance of the play in its usually cryptic style. In the audit register of the Record Office we find an entry which reads:
