ABSTRACT

Bobbi Sykes is a black Australian from North Queensland. Her job is Education Liaison Officer for Aboriginal Health in the New South Wales Health Commission, though she is currently on leave for study purposes. She has a Master’s Degree in Education from Harvard University (1981) and is currently a Doctoral student in the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Bobbi is founder/editor of AIM, a black community newspaper, and has co-authored Black Power in Australia with Senator Neville Bonner. She is author of the biography Mumshirl and a book of poems, Love Poems and Other Revolutionary Actions.
