ABSTRACT

Jocelynne Scutt is a Barrister-at-Law, currently Associate to a High Court Judge in Australia. She is single and at thirty-four has six degrees and diplomas in the legal field from the Universities of Western Australia, Sydney, Michigan (Ann Arbor) and Cambridge (UK). She is on many committees relevant to women’s affairs and belongs to a number of women’s groups, for example: Feminist Legal Action Group, Women’s Electoral Lobby, Steering Committee Women’s Refuge Evaluation Committee (N.S.W.), New South Wales Women’s Advisory Council to the Premier (1978-81), Chairperson, Australian Capital Territory Advisory Committee to the Australian Broadcasting Commission. Jocelynne has written and delivered numerous papers on issues relating to women and the law, is co-editor of Women and Crime (Allen & Unwin, 1981) and author of Even in the Best of Homes: Violence in the Family (Penguin, 1983).
