ABSTRACT

Dale Spender is an Australian and has been resident in the United Kingdom for the last eight years. She is unmarried, childfree, and has worked previously as a school teacher and university lecturer. At forty, she is ‘well qualified in male terms’ and her doctorate was published as Man Made Language (London, Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1980). She is currently working as writer, researcher, editor and broadcaster. She is editor of Women’s Studies International Forum and has published widely on feminist issues. Her most recent books is Women of Ideas, and What Men Have Done to Them (London, Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1982).
