ABSTRACT
In the last chapter we looked at the ways in which the care received by the widowed from their general practitioners related to their circumstances and problems. In this one we look at certain characteristics of the general practitioners and their attitudes and practices, to see whether these are associated with the type of care given to the elderly widowed. But first we consider their knowledge.
