ABSTRACT

Every living creature fights for its survival, development and evolution. Every moment of its life is bound by and contributes to these three goals. Darwin's theory of the “Survival of the Fittest” (Darwin, 1859) is at the heart of these three goals. The evolution and development of sapience or wisdom or intelligence in the harmony of the limbs such as hand, legs, fingers, etc., increase the chances of survival of the current generation and the evolution of the forthcoming generations. On these lines, this chapter reviews the very basics of natural intelligence and artificial intelligence (AI) and certain prominent applications of AI in day-to-day activities.
