ABSTRACT
The help discussed in this chapter ranges from the spiritual to the material. It starts by describing the help and support given by ministers or priests, then goes on to look at some of the help which may be available through local authorities from health visitors, home helps and chiropodists. Other sorts of people who helped are then considered before describing such practical services and needs as laundry services, equipment and the additional expenditure arising from ill-health and infirmity.
