ABSTRACT

It is almost impossible for a school to implement inclusive practices without having access to essential support, for both teachers and students. This chapter describes sources of support and how they function. Topics discussed include: supportive school policies, school-based sources of support, collaborative teamwork, role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator, paraprofessionals, support teachers, parents, volunteers and mentors, regional support, outside agencies and organizations, Response-to-Intervention Model (RTI).
