ABSTRACT

Sri Krishna was a small restaurant located in suburban Mumbai that provided various traditional Indian cuisines during lunch and dinner hours. During the 1990s to early 2000s, the restaurant used to do good business catering to customers from nearby locality including families, small offices, and students. However, it continued to operate out of rented space, as the landlord did not want to sell, and Murali, the owner, did not want to move to an alternative location. Gradually, as customer preference moved away from traditional cuisines and conventional service to alternative cuisines and quick service, business levels dropped, and the restaurant started making losses.
