ABSTRACT

We offer this final chapter as a “how to” primer meant to help develop our intellectual competence, cultural awareness, and critical thinking skills. While the idea of critical awareness and restorative justice may seem like lofty, even impossible goals, the actual work involved is an assemblage of fundamental cognitive skills, all of which can be learned, improved upon, practiced, and mastered. The work should inspire all of us to further study. Meanwhile, we present information and exercises intended to introduce some of the fundamental skills associated with the contents of the previous chapters. In no way is what we present complete and in no way does it attempt to replace the need for greater exposure to language, logic, and mathematics. There is perhaps no better way to develop key skills associated with critical thinking than through writing. Today most of what we write has almost an unlimited shelf life as digital information, and represents how we think, and the quality of our thinking.
