ABSTRACT
As windows are subject to wind pressure the area of the panes of glass are limited (Table 8.1) and the glazed surface if large would be reduced by dividing up the area with horizontal and vertical members and/or sub-frames (casements and sashes) set into the main frame (Figure 8.1c).
