ABSTRACT

The term flat roof refers to any roof which has its upper surface incline at an angle (slope) not exceeding 10° as shown in Figure 3.1(a).

The illustration at the start of this chapter shows how the methods of construction are not dissimilar to the independent timber upper floor featured in Section 1.22 - where means of support, anchorage, stiffening by strutting and the decking all follow a similar procedure.
