ABSTRACT
The word theory often conjures terror, fright, and avoidance behavior among many teachers. Why is it that a new perspective for obtaining knowledge should be so ridiculed by society’s dispensers of traditional knowledge? The root meaning is uncomplicated enough. A theory is the “act of viewing.” It once meant an imaginative contemplation of reality, like poetry. In education, its more common meaning is a principle or a plan of action.
