ABSTRACT
The influence of NHS reforms on quality of care and the consequent implications for nurses will be addressed in this chapter. The sometimes confusing and daunting terminology and definitions surrounding quality will be examined, together with the demands for measuring and evaluating practice. The contributions of nurses to quality initiatives and evaluation will be discussed.
