ABSTRACT
Consideration of a child for help at stage 3 of the 5-stage model for meeting SEN typically results from dissatisfaction with the child's progress at a meeting held to review the child's IEP at stage 2. If the conclusion of the meeting is that the child is making insufficient progress despite receiving all the help the school can itself provide then the next step is to involve specialist help from outside the school.
