ABSTRACT
From Absalom and Achitophel. A Poem. The Fourth Edition: Augmented and Revised (1682). The first two poems were published in the second London edition (1681); the third was added in the third London edition (1682). The authors were the dramatist Nathaniel Lee (1649?-92); Richard Duke (1658–1711), poet, collaborator with Dryden in translations, and later chaplain to Queen Anne; and Nahum Tate (1652–1715), Irish dramatist, author of most of The Second Part of Absalom and Achitophel.
