According to the editor of the TLS, November 1984, the author of this review of Poems, 2nd edn, and Lahey, was W.J. Turner (1889--1946), the Australian-born poet. He had come to Europe in 1907 and his verse established him as a prominent member of the Georgian movement. He wrote a good deal of literary and musical criticism for periodicals. For a further piece by Turner on Hopkins, see No. 51.
