But we must go further. The Villanovan civilization was introduced into Italy almost at the same time as the successors of the Mycenreans entered Greece. In short, the dividing of the Celtic peoples into two groups is an ancient event, of very great importance, connected with the great facts of European prehistory. It is the consequence of the breaking-up of the Italo-Celtic community.
