ABSTRACT
It is hard to say just how large the population of the village is. Since the revival of the Pao-chia system, * each family must post on the top of the front door a card bearing the name, age, sex, kinship status, and occupation of the family members. However, access to this means of counting is impossible, so our estimate must be made on the basis of the size of an average family and the approximate number of families in the village.
