ABSTRACT
The natural resources, methods of production, means of livelihood and property system of any community provide a tangible mechanism which regulates and gives stability to the relations between its members in accordance with the value system governing that culture. 1 In Silwa, the village community under study, agriculture is the basic activity of the great majority of the population.
