ABSTRACT
An attempt has been made, in the two previous sections, to examine the process by which an almost ‘pure’ peasant society passes over into a ‘mixed’ peasant society in the framework of a general national society still mainly at the market-town phase, but with some of the institutions and elements characteristic of urban industrialized society beginning to make their influence felt.
