ABSTRACT
The attitude to sex in this group is a curiously mixed one. Prudery and crudeness are closely intermingled. In Chapters V and VI it was emphasized that no parent would ever speak of sex to a child and that definitely no sex instructions are given. One mother said she did speak to her daughters but in fact all she said was, ‘Keep away from the boys.’
