ABSTRACT
Equal educational opportunities for all the youth of a country has come to be one of the most valued aspects of the creed of democracy. Education for their children is one of Swedish parents’ most cherished ambitions. What they most want to gain by reducing the number of children to one or two perhaps is the possibility of “giving them a good education.”
