ABSTRACT
The Poor Persons' Rules, it must be stated again—for even lawyers are sometimes ignorant of the fact—apply only to proceedings in the High Court, so that proceedings in the House of Lords, the Privy Council, the Criminal Courts, the County Courts, and so-called quasi-civil cases in the Police Courts, are all either governed by a different set of rules or not provided with legal aid at all.
