ABSTRACT
ON 15 January 1959 the total number of persons concerned with the running of Pentonville numbered 224. Of these, seven were designated senior staff, comprising the Governor, the Deputy Governor, two Medical Officers, the Church of England Chaplain, the Steward and the Senior Foreman of Works. The bulk of the remainder were distributed in the following way:
