ABSTRACT
The pupils in the school came from different kinds of home backgrounds. As was explained in Chapter 3 families were classified according to the grammar school experience of the parents. Thus they were either first or second generation grammar school pupils. This chapter describes the way in which this difference between pupils was related to their values and involvement in the school.
