ABSTRACT
The main purpose of the survey of the pupils’ parents was to attempt to justify an assumption made in the construction of the conceptual scheme and model. This was that the parents’ own experience of grammar school education was related to the degree of cultural continuity between the home and the school. A minor purpose was to compare the teachers’ opinions on grammar school values with those of the parents.
